In view of the present monsoon season and risk associated with heavy rainfall causing floods the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) unit and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) with support from NTPC Barh collaborated to host a significant mock drill on safety measures to be taken during flash floods. This joint initiative aimed to equip local communities and CISF with the knowledge and skills needed in order to respond effectively to emergencies caused by flood in the nearby villages.

Under the able guidance of DC CISF, Sh. Mayank Bhate, the NDRF team, led by Sh. Krishna Kant Kanak and NTPC Safety Department jointly organized and executed the mock drill on the banks of the Ganga River.

During the exercise, the NDRF team suggested several personal safety measures that individuals can adopt to safeguard themselves and their loved ones. These included ingenious floaters made from empty bottles, enabling people to stay afloat during floods, and imparted essential Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques tailored for both children and adults.

The joint mock drill was met with overwhelming appreciation from the local communities. Villagers expressed gratitude for the invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience shared by the expert teams, which empowered them to take necessary precautions and respond proactively in times of emergency.

Addressing the media after the successful mock drill, Sh. Mayank Bhate, DC, CISF, commended the collaborative effort and emphasized the significance of community engagement in mitigating flood-related risks. He emphasized the importance of such preparedness exercises, particularly in regions vulnerable to flash floods.

In conclusion, the joint mock drill on flash flood safety organized by CISF, NDRF, and NTPC Barh has left a lasting mark on the local community, equipping them with life-saving knowledge and strategies.
